This project aimed to institutionalize a coastal resource management plan to increase capacity of local government and communities to reduce resource degradation and create a functional gender-balanced multi-sectoral management body.
Haribon facilitated the updating of the coastal profile of Burdeos, Quezon province that considers gender perspectives, and the level of engagement of women and men in decision-making in relation to coastal management.
Previously-declared local conservation areas and marine protected areas were reinforced. To spread further awareness, 8 posters were designed by communities portraying gender-sensitive conservation action with the theme “Protektahan ang likas na yaman ng bayan ng Burdeos.”
